General Insurance Actuarial Consultant role/Johannesburg

The General Insurance team are offering roles at various levels of development and seniority.

The team assists clients across Africa on a range of projects varying between statutory and HAF appointments to new product designs and pricing models.

The candidates will be providing actuarial and technical assistance to the actuaries and clients, and be responsible for maintaining client relationships and delivery on key projects. The same division is responsible for Enterprise Risk and Capital Management and Data Science. Giving the candidate potential exposure to these fields should they want to expand their capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Experience with valuations and solvency calculations

REQUIREMENTS

3 to 6 years experience in General Insurance, either in capital modelling, pricing or valuations

Good progress with exams with at least 6 CTs passed up to nearly qualified level Calculating technical provisions including IBNR, UPR, AURR etc.

Reinsurance reviews and optimisation

Drafting reports and communications

Product pricing and design, including working with GLMs

Capital modelling including determining the SAM SCR, as well

as capital requirements in other jurisdictions

Provide technical advice to General Insurers across Africa

Expand capabilities into data science and capital management
