HR & Stakeholders Manager



KEY CUSTOMERS: Internal Stakeholders and External Customers



  • Strong support of the GM and HODs with strategic leadership and direction within a large plant or cluster of plants.
  • Leading and managing the HR team at the respective site.
  • Partnering with Group and BU HR to ensure delivery of Human Capital objectives.
  • A critical part of this role would be to identify and compile a stakeholder strategy and manage stakeholder groups with the aim of being proactive and mitigating risk.
  • Development and implementation of plans, e.g. SLP, CSI, etc.



  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent



  • 6 - 8 years of progressive human resources management experience with a strong background in employment and selection, training, organization development, compensation, employee relations and labour law.
  • Proficiency in Core HR Skill Areas: HR planning & forecasting, talent acquisition and development, change management, reward management, employee relations and transformation.
  • Proficiency in Organization Effectiveness Practice Areas:  Integrated Talent Strategies Development/Implementation, Change Planning/Management, Learning & Development Capability, Human Capital Management, Organization Design, Performance Management/Culture Change, and Team Effectiveness
  • Proficiency in dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders: employees, organised labour, government, local municipalities, DMR and NGOs. Academic Institutions. Urban/ rural local communities (Incl. traditional leaders, community activism groups).

  • Partner with the plant General Manager and Department Heads to advise, develop and implement strategies that will engage people in delivering the organization’s vision; plays an active role in engaging people on sustainable business growth.
  • Acts as coach and trusted business advisor to influence the business in the areas of leadership, organization effectiveness, leading change, organization architecture, building capability to enhance a high performing culture.
  • Stewards the company culture within the Plant by recognizing, articulating and shaping the need for change; drives organisational norms and values, and integrates the culture into Employees’ ways of working within the Plant.
  • Initiates and sustains continuous dialogue with Department Heads on change issues, and partners in exploring options for resolving the issues. 
  • Ensures implementation of relevant HR systems projects as per the business needs.
  • Lead, create and support the achievement of Employee Value Proposition and Employer Branding in order to create a Great Place to Work environment.
  • Ensure Employment Equity Act compliance to ensure the company achieves its Transformation targets.
  • Manage HR budgeting.
  • Partners with Group HR to:
    • drive integrated talent management, development, compensation, and performance management strategies to build internal and external talent pipelines, ensuring a sustainable bench of growing and ready now talent for key positions for the business.
    • to provide input into strategies and programs that allow the organization to attract and retain the best-in-class talent, and differentiate reward the high performers. Leads the execution of talent retention programmes within the Plant.
    • to ensure standard HR systems, processes, policies, procedures, plans, and programs are in place and effectively utilized (compensation, employee relations, staffing, performance management, etc.). Establishes timely and appropriate Operating Agreements/SLAs with basic service providers (Shared Services, COEs). Applies and tracks key performance metrics through an established scorecard to ensure the effectiveness of service delivery and alignment to achieve business strategy and goals.
    • to develop and drive strategies/tactics for building a winning employer Brand that nurtures the aspiration to becoming the Best Employer.
    • to ensure a sound employee remuneration environment in the Plant.
    • Manage other stakeholders by:
      • Maintaining a sound and strategic relationship with organised labour
      • Identify all key stakeholders to the plant ensuring a proactive, constructive and low risk relationship with these stakeholders.
      • Compile a stakeholder strategy
      • Implementation of stakeholder plans, e.g. SLP, CSI, etc.
