Product Manager (Cyber Security)


Objective of this Role: 

The Product Manager will meet and exceed quarterly sales quota by developing new opportunities within specific geographical territories.  Researching and identifying potential accounts; outbound cold calling to soliciting new accounts; building rapport; providing technical information and explanations; delivering presentations; preparing accurate quotes; providing accurate forecast on a monthly/quarterly basis; occasionally attending regional events. The Product Manager is also responsible for closing new business, forecasting all sales activity on a monthly/quarterly basis and annual revenue responsibility.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Consistently achieve and/or exceed your assigned quotas and revenue objectives
  • Identify, qualify and develop new opportunities through prospecting and networking
  • Manage and maintain your territory’s sales pipeline and target key accounts and vertical markets for development
  • Achieve assigned monthly, quarterly and annual sales budgets and other regional objectives
  • Provide monthly and quarterly sales forecasts
  • Presenting quarterly territory reviews and plans for next quarter
  • Updating job knowledge by studying new product descriptions and participating in educational opportunities
  • Accomplishing department and organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests
  • Exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Assess competitors by analyzing and summarizing competitor information and trends
  • Recruit new strategic partners and define and execute strategy for named Partners
  • Recruit new strategic partners in defined region
  • Develop engagement plan with named Channel Partners
  • Drive Channel Partners sales and technical certification
  • In conjunction with the marketing team, develop and assist with the execution of lead generation campaigns for the purpose of pipeline development
  • Provide input to marketing and/or program managers regarding additions or changes needed to our partner tools, on-line interfaces, or similar
  • Manage the day to day activities of sales personnel dedicated to your region. This includes inside sales representatives and sales engineers.
  • Stay abreast of competitive industry and market intelligence and provide feedback in this area to executive management
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


Required Skills:

  • Cyber Security experience a must have
  • Past revenue responsibility and proven track record of success
  • Familiarity with the network security marketplace
  • Exhibited sales skills and track record of success
  • Prospecting and Closing Skills
  • Accurate forecasting
  • Experience working with one and two tier channel models
  • Experience working with both national and regional Channel Partners
  • Relationships and knowledge of 1 tier partners including the large SPs, SIs and regional SIs
  • Knowledge of MSSP models and partners and how to establish this business
  • Previous experience selling services in support of technology or software products is highly desirable
  • Client Base Management, Technical Understanding, Building Relationships, People Skills
  • CRM, Customer Focus, Professionalism, Motivation for Sales
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to use internal resources efficiently
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of systems like SalesForce, NetSuite, Microsoft Products
  • Relevant Qualification and 5-7 years of experience directly relating to this job
  • Ability to take on a consultative style when presenting ideas and products
  • Competency with sales tracking tools
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented and capable of accurate work with minimal supervision
  • The ability to travel approximately 25% of the time
  • Strong Presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

Salary: R60 000 - R 65 000 (this includes medical aid and prov fund) p/m; plus quarterly commission
