Scope:
Providing specialist inputs and support and ensuring professional and compliant electrical designs for nuclear projects on time and to client specifications. The position is a senior technical role requiring leadership qualities.
Qualifications and Experience:
B.Sc. or B.Eng in Electrical Engineering.
Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer.
Training on nuclear design principles
Experience with the design of MV, LV, DC systems on PWR plants.
A working knowledge of the operation of plant systems on a PWR plant.
A thorough knowledge of the Koeberg Nuclear Power Station would be a distinct advantage.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in electrical engineering in a nuclear engineering environment, with at least 5 of those in design specifically.
An authorised Safety Evaluator in terms of KTA-005 (for Koeberg), or an operational knowledge of the 10CFR50.59 processes.
What you will be doing:
Compilation of designs for modifications to nuclear facilities (Koeberg Power Station being one).
Compilation of concept design for tender proposals.
Design and design reviews.
Compilation of technical specifications for procurement and services.
Support work for modifications and tenders.
Assistance with contract negotiations.
Assistance with the compilation of test and commissioning procedures.
Assistance with testing and commissioning activities
Configuration management
Mentoring of junior personnel.
