The role exists to:

  • Determine digital strategy throughout the group (with CIO and marketing director) and champion delivery of the agreed strategy throughout the organisation
  • Drive online as the channel of choice taking full responsibility for all online content and sales activity within the Police Mutual Group
  • Champion the role of digital in all sales, retention and communication activity and provide digital knowledge input into customer and proposition development

Job Requirements:

  • A broad web/Ecomms/digital background with experience of web design and build, sales optimisation and content management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of communication best practice
  • Excellent influencing skills and an ability to forge effective working relationships with colleagues across a wide range of disciplines and seniority
  • Experience of developing and managing
  • Proactive and innovative, continually challenging the status quo
  • Data interpretation and analysis
  • Needs to know about the Society's products, services and policies and;
  • A comprehensive understanding of the Police Mutual Group business strategy
  • Practical knowledge and experience of leading edge digital thinking
  • Must really understand and “get” customer experience
  • The broader financial service industry
  • The FSA regulatory framework
  • Police Mutual people management policies
  • Needs to have the following, or equivalent qualifications;
  • Likely to be educated to first degree level or equivalent
  • May have advanced diploma and/or technical qualification

  • Maintain understanding of the latest digital opportunities and trends in consumer interaction with digital technology and inspire the organisation with those possibilities
  • Identify opportunities to harness technology to deliver increased traffic to the Police Mutual websites
  • Maximise online conversion through effective customer journeys and sales processes
  • Ensure appropriate commercial targets are set for all eEcommerce activity and ensure such activity is appropriately tracked.
  • Support the migration towards a fully effective CRM system for all customer activity
  • Deliver these commitments through management of the digital team and digital marketing agencies
  • Through the digital team, manage the internal network of content authors to ensure that our website and social media presences meet high editorial, usability and effectiveness standards
  • Create a leading edge analytical, test and learn culture so that the effectiveness of our website, e-marketing and email programmes are continuously increased
  • Build understanding of digital opportunities throughout the wider organisation
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legal and best practice standards
  • Support the development of initiatives that build on our brand essence such as The Police Mutual Foundation
  • Manage digital budgets and budgets allocated by internal client
