Job Outline

The SEO specialist will be responsible for developing and executing the SEO strategy. This will include on and off-site search engine optimisation plans, analyses, implementation and reporting to maximise the company’s organic search results, expand online digital audience and ultimately help grow online revenue.


  • Grade 12/Matric
  • 3 Year Bachelor’s Degree/NQF Level 7, preferably in marketing or relevant digital marketing certifications
  • Google Analytics Certification will be beneficial


  • At least 5 years’ experience working within a digital role, with 3 years’ experience as an SEO Specialist
  • Experience targeting specific goals, focused metrics and KPIs when developing and executing the SEO strategy
  • Experience in analysing websites for improvements, keyword research and SEO copywriting
  • Experience in the use of SEO Tools and Google Analytics for measuring and reporting

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficiency in the use of Google Analytics, Webmaster and other Analytic tools
  • Advanced knowledge of SEO best practices
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe)
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills for collaborating with other teams
  • Knowledge/Experience of the hospitality and tourism industry is an advantage

Key Performance Areas

  • Implement daily SEO including checking link profiles, reviewing copy, and keyword research
  • Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords
  • Promote both off-site and onsite activities and interaction with other websites to build ranking, profile and traffic
  • Perform keyword research in coordination with business objectives to optimize existing content and uncover new opportunities
  • Perform on-going keyword discovery, expansion and optimization
  • Liaise with the digital team and provide recommendations for content development in line with SEO goals
  • Implement link building campaigns in co-ordination with SEO goals
  • Optimize copy and landing pages for search engine marketing
  • Keep pace with SEO, social media and digital marketing industry trends and developments and inform other teams on required changes
  • Liaise with the sales & marketing teams on content produced for the digital channels
  • Maintain regular communication with the digital team and management on project development, timelines and results
  • Create and documents digital marketing processes (including SOPs, Templates, FAQs) and communicate with other teams
