Snr Fiduciary Specialist

Job Description: 

Summary of Role: The role of Fiduciary Specialist includes providing specialist fiduciary services to Wealth clients and assisting Private Bankers in growing their book.

Responsibilities Main Functions
• To provide specialist fiduciary services to clients, Private Bankers and other stakeholders on legal, tax and other complex financial planning matters that fall within the ambit of the Financial Planning Institute (FPI), with specific reference to Estate and Retirement Planning;
• To assist with training support in the area of Wealth Planning and Structuring (e.g CFP preparation, etc.);
• To provide support in terms of technical interpretation and usage of Wealth Planning vehicles
• To draft Estate Planning proposals
• To draft Retirement Planning proposals
• To consult directly with clients and related Private Banker in exceptional cases;
• To draft Wills and Trusts: alternatively to ensure that Wills and Trusts drafted by said company Trust Division are according to the client’s needs and instruction 

Other Functions
• To provide Regional Management with high-level knowledge of technical financial planning aspects;
• To provide expert inputs as required in strategic projects / initiatives, forming a key part of the wealth planning intellectual capital in Absa Wealth
• To liaise with Wealth Legal and Compliance to ensure alignment in the areas of technical legal and tax matters;
• To assist Wealth in refining the Wealth planning methodology by staying abreast of developments in the industry

Knowledge and Skills: 

• In depth financial technology knowledge
• Good technical knowledge (especially in Estate and Retirement Planning);
• Good legislative knowledge (especially in Financial Planning area, as well as Taxation
• Strong self-confidence
• Competent comprehension skills
• Excellent presentation and networking skills
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Computer Literacy

Experience

• Minimum 5 years legal / tax advisory experience in a technical support role in the Financial Planning / Financial Services Industry
• Experience in Risk Product will be an advantage

Education

• Minimum Grade 12 or NQF equivalent
• A relevant Business / Legal degree, i.e LLB or equivalent
• A relevant professional qualification , i.e CFP or H Dip Tax or BCom (Financial Planning)
