Administrator: Accreditation Approvals

The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) exists in terms of the Skills Development Act and is a categorised as a Schedule 3A public entity in terms of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA). Its mandate includes:

• Developing and implementing a sector skills plan
• Promoting learning programmes
• Registering learning programme agreements
• Serving as an Education and Training Quality Authority
• Collecting and disbursing skills development levies
• Liaising with the National Skills Authority
• Reporting to the Director-General of the Department of Higher Education and Training on its activities

The CETA would like to make the following appointments on a fixed-term contract up to 31 March 2020, renewable at its discretion:

Administrator: Accreditation Approvals
Reporting to the Officer: Accreditation Approvals
Based at Head Office in Gauteng
All-inclusive salary package negotiable

Job Profile
The Accreditation Approvals Administrator of the CETA provides administrative and other relevant support to the Learning Pathways and Quality Development Unit so that it may discharge its responsibilities effectively and efficiently.

Minimum Requirements for the Position
• Grade 12 Certificate and a post-school qualification in related field
• At least a year’s experience, including internship, in an administrative or related position
• Demonstrable knowledge of SETA core business will count in the applicant’s favour
• Training and/or experience in the construction industry will be an added
advantage
• Verbal communication, analytical, presentation and computer skills

Duties and Responsibilities
• Support the development of the Unit’s business plan
• Support the operationalisation and the implementation of the Unit’s business plan
• Support the development and responsible management of the Unit’s budget
• Support the development of relevant process flows for all activities of the unit
• Ensure Unit compliance to relevant prescripts and organisational policies and procedures
• Ensure that documentation submitted to Supervisor complies with the CETA policies, procedures and processes by quality assuring submissions for completeness, accuracy and
relevance
• Support the development and regular review of the Unit’s policies and procedures in alignment with the organisation’s policies and procedures
• Support the development of the Unit’s meetings’ agendas
• Assist with minute-taking in the Unit’s meetings
• support the development of high quality templates and tools to assist with the effective management of and continuous improvement within the unit
• Support CETA and stakeholder compliance with the CETA’s policies; processes and procedures; rules and regulations; and legislation pertaining to the organisation
• Assist with organisational risk management from the Unit’s point of view
• Provide administrative support for the implementation of the Unit’s work as well as relevant corporate processes and procedures
• Assist with the provision of relevant information and support to stakeholders
• Assist with the maintenance of proper records
• Contribute to the Unit’s reporting on its deliverables and processes
• Handle correspondence and enquiries relating to the Unit
• Maintain the Unit’s records and files
• Support the development and maintenance of relevant databases
• Organise workshops and other events and functions of the Unit
• Assist with the development and maintenance of relevant databases
• Support, under the direction of the Learning Pathways and Quality Development Officer, the Projects Unit on administrative aspects of project implementation
• Contribute to the development and regular review of the Unit’s policies and procedures in alignment with the organisation’s policies and procedures
• Contribute to the development of the Accreditation Learning Pathways and Quality Development Unit’s business plan
• Assist with organisational risk management from the Unit’s point of view
• Assist with the provision of relevant information and support to stakeholders
• Support stakeholders towards compliance with the CETA’s policies; processes and procedures; rules and regulations; and legislation pertaining to the organisation
• Contribute to CETA compliance with the relevant policy, legislative, regulatory and reporting environment pertaining to it
• Contribute to the Unit’s reporting on its deliverables and processes
• Contribute to the promotion of the CETA and its work
• Assist with relevant data uploading by both providers and the CETA
• Perform all functions as delegated by the Accreditation Approvals Officer
• Perform any other relevant duties as directed
