Administrator: Driver / Messenger

The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) exists in terms of the Skills Development Act and is a categorised as a Schedule 3A public entity in terms of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA). Its mandate includes:

• Developing and implementing a sector skills plan
• Promoting learning programmes
• Registering learning programme agreements
• Serving as an Education and Training Quality Authority
• Collecting and disbursing skills development levies
• Liaising with the National Skills Authority
• Reporting to the Director-General of the Department of Higher Education and Training on its activities

The CETA would like to make the following appointments on a fixed-term contract up to 31 March 2020, renewable at its discretion:

Administrator: Driver / Messenger
Reporting to the Officer: Registry and Logistics
Based at Head Office in Gauteng
All-inclusive salary package negotiable

Job Profile:
To provide driving, messenger, registry and administrative support.

Minimum Requirements for the Position
• Matric certificate
• 5 year’s driving experience in messenger services;
• A valid Code 10 driver’s license
• Professional Driving Permit(PDP)

Duties and Responsibilities
• Support the development of relevant process flows for all activities of the unit
• Support the development and regular review of the Unit’s policies and procedures in alignment with the organisation’s policies and procedures
• Support the development of the Unit’s business plan
• Support the development and responsible management of the Unit’s budget
• Assist with organisational risk management from the Unit’s point of view
• Assist with the provision of relevant information and support to stakeholders
• Support CETA and stakeholder compliance with the CETA’s policies; processes and procedures; rules and regulations; and legislation pertaining to the organisation
• Contribute to the Unit’s reporting on its deliverables and processes
• Do routine maintenance on the required and prescribed records and log books with regards to the vehicle and goods handled
• Keep the vehicle clean or ensuring that it is mechanically sound
• Check engine fluids, inspecting interior and exterior electrical and mechanical components, maintaining tire pressure and keeping fuel levels at adequate levels
• Acquire, retain and submit all vehicle related receipts to the office of the CEO and ensure that expenditures are authorized
• Perform driving/messenger duties
• Manage the receipt and delivery of mail
• Packaging and delivery of documents
• Sorting and registering of mail
• General maintenance and storage of light motor vehicles
• General maintenance and storage of a heavy truck
• Drive the exhibition truck to all parts of South Africa
• Perform general administrative and record keeping tasks
• Perform other duty as may be allocated from time to time.
