We are looking for an experienced candidate to fill the position of Buyer within Family Tree Holdings. This position is available for an self-driven, disciplined and determined candidate who will be responsible for coordinating buying and mecharndising activities. If you need to further consolidate your experience, driven, and entrepreneurial, and have been exposed to Fast Moving Consumer Good (FMCG), then this opportunity is for you.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Analyse sales trends/ history and formulate purchasing strategy
• Building & maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
• Research local markets and interpret trends for the SME Retail customer
• Procuring agreed ranges involving interdepartmental co-ordination
• Negotiating of cost prices resulting in value for money, selling price points and primary margins being achieved
• Implementing and maintaining quality standards regarding merchandise
• Ensure growth and development of business
• Conduct research to keep in touch with market and customer demand changes
• Presenting product range & trend information to the Senior Management team
• Analysing sales figures to plan successful future lines
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Diploma in Purchasing or equivalent qualifications
• At least 5 years buying and merchandising experience
• Ability to influence and negotiate effectively at all levels
• Merchant and retail ability: demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the market place, competitors and customer needs
• Demonstrate good business acumen and Entrepreneurial
• At least 4 years experience in FMCG industry
•Team Player: ability and will to work co-operatively with others within a team and across departments towards a common objective
• Results driven and proactive
• Effective communication and presentation skills
• Able to adapt swiftly in a fast paced, ever changing seasonal retail market.
• Excellent numerical ability, with an analytical mindset
• Tolerance to change / ability to work under pressure
• Computer literate: ability to operate in a Windows-based environment
