Customer Relations Liaison Officer (Events Management)

Essential criteria: Sound knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations● Solid knowledge of good practices in Events Management and promotions ●Solid knowledge of marketing and/or communication industry ●Excellent verbal and written communication skills (to all levels & personalities) ●Excellent interpersonal skills and professional decorum ●Advanced computer in MS Office Packages ●Excellent planning and organising skills (strong competency in general administration skills).

Key performance Areas: ●Events Management and Strategy: ●Assist in the implementation of the Authority’s Events Management strategy and communication policy to facilitate the implementation of integrated events and marketing services within the Authority● External Events Management: Project-manage external events management and functions to ensure that the Authority derives the desired value from them and that it meets its objectives. This includes management of all logistics relating to an event or function such as: ●Ensuring invitations are sent and confirmed● Speakers, and programme directors are timeously secured ●Event programmes are timeously prepared and finalized ●Ensuring that audio-visual that equipment is procured and working prior to the event● Preparing programme for the function● Ensure protocol and order of proceedings are arranged● Setting up themes for functions, booking for venues ●Liaison with suppliers: Caterers, decoration companies, security etc ●Preparing emergency event management plans ● Preparing pre-events concepts’, highlighting the objectives and outcomes and compile post events reports ●Customer Relations Management(CRM): ●Facilitate development, implementation and review of service level standards (SLA) with all partners, vendors, stakeholders and PSiRA internal Divisions and Units (including regional offices) ●Corporate Image, Brand and Identity: ●In partnership with the Brand and External Communications Officers, ensure the application and design of PSiRA’s corporate identity and brand in all corporate events: This include:● Being involved in the development of any promotional material for PSiRA events● Assist in coordinating the design and production of these products/materials so that PSiRA has above board brand visibility at all PSiRA events ●Budget planning and management responsibility: ●Make meaningful inputs to the budgeting process, planning in the Unit and control implementation of capital and operational budgets of the Unit so that the expenditure is in line with defined limits and PSiRA’s strategic agenda.

Job Requirements: 

A three-year National Diploma or Degree in Marketing/Branding or Communications● A certificate in Project Management would be an added advantage● At least a minimum of five years in classical Marketing and Events Management in a professional environment.
