Electrical Training Instructor / Facilitator


Purpose of the role
The Instructor manages the activities involved in the preparation, delivery and assessment of training and development programmes for the Technical Training Centre. The Instructor should be a self-starter with a passion for talent development, a high level of flexibility, commitment, and the ability to facilitate learning effectively.

• Plan and prepare for lessons
• Facilitate learning (theory and practical) using various methodologies
• Provide training reports and daily learner attendance registers
• Carry out administrative tasks related to courses and attend meetings as required by the management team
• Maintain a practical understanding of service standards and quality improvement initiatives relevant to the department and work to these standards, engaging in personal and professional development as appropriate
• Researching and developing new topics, courses and teaching materials, including online resources. Contribute to the preparation of course materials.
• Academic monitoring and general academic administration
• Effective management and maintenance of the practical workstations
• Mentor and support learners as needed
• Ensure that health and safety protocols are adhered to at the training centre
• Assist with sourcing of workplaces and monitoring of learners at workplaces
• Assist with uploading of learner data onto SETA systems
• Facilitate learner’s trade test preparation and trade tests
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (QCTO, NAMB, SETA etc)

This position is based in the East Rand/ Ekurhuleni area.

Job Requirements: 

• Qualified Electrician (Wireman’s License would be an added advantage)
• A minimum of 5 Years relevant training / facilitation experience
• Assessor and/ or Moderator registration will be an added advantage
