Our client is looking for a Head of Teaching and Learning (HOTL) for their Cape Town campus. The HOTL is the senior academic on Cape Town campus and
is relied on for academic leadership. The HOTL represents the Heads of Programmes in all aspects of teaching and learning on the Cape Town Campus and ensures the smooth and efficient academic functioning of the Academic Department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all academic and vocational programmes offered on the campus. The candidate will also be responsible for the provision of academic leadership to ensure quality teaching and learning Cape Town campus.
A Minimum of a Master’s degree.
3-5 years’ experience in an academic
leadership role in Higher Education in
3 years teaching experience in higher
education in South Africa
3-5 years Management and leadership
Intimate understanding of the higher
education landscape in South Africa.
Relevant legislative knowledge of
DHET/CHE/SAQA and able to
implement programmes ensuring they
aligned with the requirements of the
HEQSF, including qualification levels
and NQF level descriptors set by
SAQA and implications for teaching
Excellent computer literacy: Moodle, Turn-it-
in and Student Base (advantageous)
Strong Academic Writing Skills
Can undertake training workshops to
develop educators on campus.
