Intermediate JavaScript Developer

Due to expansion within the Banking Team an opportunity for an Intermediate JavaScript Developer has become available at this International Development Company, based in Cape Town.

This opportunity will be suited to a highly skilled full-stack developer with a leaning towards the backend with node and have a passion for coding.

Key Performance Areas:

• Plan, design, implement, document, test and release new features
• Do code reviews and deliver stable code
• Maintain existing code base, and if need be creating documentation and diagrams to substantiate
• Liaise with the QA team to identify and fix bugs
• Work in an agile environment with stand-ups, sprints, and planning meetings
• Work in a small development team taking on new features, spikes, bugs

Salary is highly negotiable and will depend on relevant experience, qualifications, and skills set

Job Requirements: 

Minimum Requirements will include:

• 3+ years of developing code
• Experience as a Full – Stack JavaScript Developer
• Computer Science/Software Engineering Diploma/Degree or equivalent experience
• Demonstratable experience with backend development of microservices with Node.js, deployment to Kubernetes, DevOps, and management of deployment
• Manifests experience with working in automated CI/CD environments
• Desired Skills will include: Node.js, Kubernetes/Rancher/Docker, MS SQL/MongoDB, experience working in agile environment facilitated by JIRA, Bamboo, Octopus, Drone, experience in
integration with 3rd party payment gateways /API’s
• High-performance servers and scalable architecture design
• Experienced with modern development principles from ideation to implementation
• Exposure to modern software architecture principals
• Experience with test-driven development leveraging unit testing and integration testing
