The Local Government SETA (LGSETA) was established in terms of the Skills Development Act No. 97 of 1998 and is responsible for skills development within the Local Government sector. The SETAs were relicensed by the Minister of Higher Education and Training, extending their licence period to 31 March 2020. Accordingly, employment with the LGSETA is determined for a fixed period and aligned to the SETA licence term.
MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS GRAPHIC DESIGNER – (1 POST)

Position Location: Bedfordview, Gauteng.
The Graphic designer will be responsible for creating visual concepts, by hand or using computer software, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate both internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent will develop the overall layout and production design for advertisements, brochures, Newsletters, announcements, invitations and promotional material.
Key Performance Areas:
Provide key support for functional offices, including performance of a wide variety of specialised graphic designing functions • Manages and reports on cost usage that reflects delivery of planned work within agreed parameters. • Ensures customer excellence through interaction with internal and external stakeholders throughout all business activities • Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding new graphic design requests. • Ensures continuous process improvement to enable effective operational processes. • Ensures quality standards of artwork. • Identifies and participates in planned activities that are appropriate for own development. • Promotes teamwork amongst peers and team members. • Provide support at all LGSETA events internal and external. • Provide support in the production of promotional material and dissemination to all provincial offices. • Create designs, artwork for the organisations website • Provide key support on graphics for the website. Photo shopping, resizing of image and designs • Review designs for errors and amend accordingly before publishing.
A higher education diploma • Tertiary qualifications in Graphic Design (NQF level 07) • Minimum 2 years of proven track record in Graphic Design • Good project and campaign management skills • Knowledge of use and implementation of social and other new media outreach • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office • Fluency in spoken and written English • Excellent organisational, planning and prioritisation skills • Stress-resistant, creative and resourceful problem solving abilities • Ability to take initiative, prioritise and work under set deadlines • Ability to work independently and within a team • Adaptable, positive, approachable • Motivated self-starter and effective team member • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Attention to detail and passionate about quality.
