Our client currently has an opportunity for a Mechanical Foreman reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent.
The successful incumbent will be responsible for managing the mechanical maintenance in an assigned section as well as managing the maintenance system and execution as per ISO 55000 to ensure asset care and management and to maintain above 90% plant availability.
Ensure data procurement of the section i.e. OEM manuals, drawings in the centralized library.
Ensure safe maintenance of machinery as per MHSA Act (Act 29 of 1996) as well applicable SANS standards.
Ensure the work cycle management is functional and deviations reviewed i.e. maintenance schedules, works orders & breakdowns.
Ensure effective labour utilization effectiveness in the section.
Ensure cost management and report on variances.
Demonstrate effective people management and leadership skills.
Ensure correction on deviations from the condition monitoring reports.
Reduce repeat breakdowns in the section through conducting of investigations.
Reduce mean time to repair (MTTR) on breakdowns.
Ensure discipline when performing standby duties.
Ensure compliance on overtime management (40 hours monthly legal limit).
Ensure good housekeeping where machinery is erected by adoption of best practices.
Ensure effective risk management upon maintenance execution.
Ensure efficient shut management and compliance.

Mechanical Trade test,
National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Advantageous),
Minimum five years’ experience in a Mining and heavy duty industrial engineering, environment (preferably with supervisory experience.)
Leadership ability in order to motivate and maintain a team spirit.
Valid drivers licence
