Key performance Areas: Develop and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets● Assist in developing and implementation of PSiRA’s media strategy in consultation with the Manager: Communications● Monitor daily media and advise on reactive media opportunities● Develop and pitch proactive media opportunities aligned to the Authority’s strategy ● Write and distribute media releases● Host media educational and media briefings ● Lead production of PSiRA’s external newsletter , sector bulletins , brochures and promotional material● Copy and edit publications● Support the marketing and communications initiatives● Contribute to the development and delivery of communications strategies for the organisation● Maintain oversight of PSiRA’s website , including updating relevant information ● Develop, implement and evaluate PSiRA’s social media strategy in consultation with Manager: Communications● Enhance PSiRA’s social media ● Develop online communication materials including video content ● Conduct benchmarking, attend seminars and read industry publications to keep current with emerging digital technologies and drive PSiRA’s digital presence● Communication/PR: Assist in the management of PSiRA’ s corporate identity and image● In consultation with Manager: Communication implement and control external communication function ● Provide input and co-ordinate PR programmes of the Authority● Strategically co-ordinate and support all facets of communication externally for all campaigns ● Assist in ensuring that campaigns are reaching or exceeding stakeholders expectations ● Input into development and management of effective communication plans that will give PSiRA’s brand the competitive edge ● Analysing and reporting on campaigns based on the expected objectives ● Assist in ensuring that relevant stakeholders are educated● General: ● Provide support in the implementation of the communications operational plan and policy● Attend registration and regulatory sub-committee meetings● Assist in preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports● Prepare specifications and requisition for communication unit.

Job Requirements: 

Requirements: Grade 12●Relevant Degree/National Diploma in Journalism /Public Relations/Communications or equivalent coupled with 5 years plus experience, 3 years working with the media and or in a corporate environment.
Essential criteria: Must submit portfolio of evidence-extensive experience in copywriting and proofreading within a Public Relations, Journalism or Communications role● Previous experience in media relations and track record in securing media coverage● Experience in online communications including: developing and implementing online strategies and maintain website● Working knowledge of Microsoft office and Desk Top Publishing●Competency in graphic design will be an added advantage.
