BSc degree in Occupational Therapy
1 Year experience (Community Service will be considered as relevant experience)
Registered with HPCSA - as an Occupational Therapist.
Sensory stimulation and/or a post-grad diploma in Sensory Integration will be an advantage.
Valid Driver's License
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation in the Medical and Forensic Field. Knowledge and experience in residential care & working with youth at risk.
Knowledge regarding psychiatric conditions pertaining to adolescents.
Experience in addressing behavioural problems.
Ability to do thorough assessments and implement effective treatment programmes.
Designing and management of recreational programmes for youth.
Ability to working in a multi-disciplinary team.
Ability to reduce the effects of institutionalization.
Case work, group work and Reintegration of youth into society.
Ability to make proper recommendations in terms of relevant placements.
Ability to do pre-voc programmes & comprehensive report writing.
Active participation in CPD activities & performance evaluation system is compulsory.
