Senior Regional Manager: Coastal Regions

The Wholesale and Retail Sector for Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA) seeks to employ a Senior Regional Manager: Coastal Regions, who will report directly to the Executive Manager Regions and be based at the Head Office in Centurion.

Key Performance Areas will include but not limited to the following;
 Provide strategic guidance and support with regards to national and provincial targets and projects
 Serve as a point of escalation to approve and sign off on various regional operational strategies
 Oversee the implementation and execution of approved national, provincial/ regional projects in line with Annual Performance Plan targets
 Provide insights to skills development regional specific needs
 Manage the achievement of and implement the regional targets
 Standardise the execution of projects and implement project management methodologies, processes and systems across coastal regions
 Prepare and develop business cases for board approval
 Ensure efficient management, continuous capacitation and coordination of all regional project managers
 Offer support to stakeholders, regional managers and respond to needs and queries
 Resolve and escalate combined regional issues
 Oversee reporting on national and combined regions performance
 Ensure clear lines of communication exist between regions and Head Office
 Build, develop and grow any business relationship to the success of the SETA’s projects
 Build, maintain and strengthen strategic partnerships with relevant organizations and institutions, including other SETAs
 Represent the SETA at forums
 Ensure effective delivery of approved projects in line with project plans
 Implement sound financial management in line with the PFMA, and any other applicable government policies
 Ensure the Unit’s compliance with both the internal and external audits
 Lead good corporate governance within the Unit
 Ensure effective Risk Management across all Coastal Regions
 Lead and manage the regions to achieve set goals and target within set timeframes
 Build and maintain an effective team within the Unit
 Implement the best performance management practices, coaching and mentorship methods
 Create and maintain a culture of performance and efficiency

Job Requirements: 

Minimum Qualification and Experience:
 Matric / Grade 12 National certificate;
 Bachelor’s Degree in Management Sciences / Commerce or equivalent
 NQF qualification in Project Management
 5 years’ managerial experience in a project management / skills development environment
 In-depth knowledge and extensive experience of the National Skills Development Strategy and the applicable legislation
 Knowledge of project management frameworks and methodologies (PMBOK, etc.)
 Experience in implementing legislation applicable to a SETA
 Knowledge of the wholesale and retail sector and experience in a Public Sector environment
 Membership with a project management professional body will be an advantage
 Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
 Own transport and a valid Driver’s License
