An opportunity exists for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join a leading South African employer. Reporting to the Service Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the warehouse, including but not limited to tracking outstanding customer orders, picking the correct stock, managing stock losses, maintain housekeeping of the warehouse and ensuring the monthly unit stock holding is achieved. A top priority is to always maintain a good relationship with customers.

The position is based in Selby, Johannesburg.

Key responsibilities

• Timeously respond to customer enquiries
• To supervise and manage the warehouse staff
• Conduct weekly stock counts
• Maintain accurate inventory master file records
• Ensure stocktakes are managed and prepared within the allocated time frame and no stock
• losses occur
• Ensure the correct documentation is submitted before stock is released from the warehouse
• Ensure all damages are reduced to a minimum of 0.5%
• Ensure stock is taken from receiving daily for reworks
• Ensure customers understand the terms of sale
• Ensure the efficient utilisation of space
• Stock control (stock counts, checking stock leaving premises as well as receiving stock)
• Receiving and despatch of stock- to ensure all the correct processes are followed
• Ensure the warehouse housekeeping is up to Company standards
• Ensure the correct process and execution of the warehouse stocktake is followed
• Ensure minimal stock loss is achieved as per the company allocated stock loss target
• Ensure all daily POD’s are managed and processed
• Keeping stock control systems up to date and ensuring inventory accuracy
• Planning future capacity requirements
• Manage and control all the faulty/spare stock sent to the Technician department as per
• company process
• Manage and control all the Warehouse administration functions including filling
• documentation
• Ensure the warehouse is OHSA compliant and all mandatory checks have been done with the
• respective inspectors
• Ensure the OHSA file is maintained as per legislation
• Have a clear understanding of the companies’ policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to the vision of the business
• Liaising with customers in line with our values and mission statement

Job Requirements: 

• Fluent in English
• Preferred Qualifications: Matric
• Microsoft office proficient
• 5+ years’ experience in managing a Warehouse operation
• Problem solving ability
• Attention to detail
• Ensure accuracy is maintained at all times
• Follow disciplines within the business
• Willingness to learn
• Hands on

• Able to work without supervision

• Good ethics
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
