Purpose of the role
The instructor manages the activities involved in the preparation, delivery and assessment of training and development programmes for the Technical Training Centre. The instructor should be a self-starter with a passion for talent development, a high level of flexibility, commitment, and the ability to facilitate learning effectively.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and prepare for lessons
• Facilitate learning (theory and practical) using various methodologies
• Provide training reports and daily learner attendance registers
• Carry out administrative tasks related to courses and attend meetings as required by the management team
• Maintain a practical understanding of service standards and quality improvement initiatives relevant to the department and work to these standards, engaging in personal and professional development as appropriate
• Researching and developing new topics, courses and teaching materials, including online resources. Contribute to the preparation of course materials.
• Academic monitoring and general academic administration
• Effective management and maintenance of the practical workstations
• Mentor and support learners as needed
• Ensure that health and safety protocols are adhered to at the training centre
• Assist with sourcing of workplaces and monitoring of learners at workplaces
• Assist with uploading of learner data onto SETA systems
• Facilitate learner’s trade test preparation and trade tests
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (QCTO, NAMB, SETA etc)
This position is based in the East Rand/ Ekurhuleni area.

• A minimum of 5 Years relevant training / facilitation experience
• Assessor and/ or Moderator registration will be an added advantage
