Direct Sales Manager: Sales Agents - HomeChoice

This role is for an energetic and enthusiastic entrepreneurial retail trader, who will proactively and systematically identify and develop direct business through the effective management, motivation and development of Direct Sales Agents to improve overall performance and achieve sales targets. Your drive for hitting targets, people management, taking ownership and customer centric mindset will set you up for success in this role!

Here’s what you can expect to be doing in this role: (KPA’s)       

  • Conceptualize and manage the sales agent strategy to ensure revenue targets are achieved
  • Update and maintain weekly and monthly forecasts and adjust plan based on performance trends 
  • Ensure that the sales model is in line with the campaign plan and financial flow plan
  • Grow the average intake value performance per agent on a monthly basis
  • Ensure agent base growth and performance to deliver against years objectives and targets
  • Co-ordinate and oversee campaigns to recruit, train, motivate and incentivise staff within the sales agent business
  • Provide valid and up to date recruitment, training, and motivational material to the agents
  • Coach, mentor and support senior agents in leading their teams
  • Develop, implement, co-ordinate and report on processes, policies and functions of the sales agent business
  • Monitor, review and refine operational processes to improve the efficiency of the sales agent business and to achieve gross sales value target on a monthly basis
  • Develop, agree and implement communication and motivation plans for the sales agent business
  • Research, investigate and implement all ad hoc projects to improve the overall system, processes, costs and timeline efficiencies as required by the business and/or line manager
  • Compile, issue and present standard daily, weekly and monthly reports according to business needs and requirements timeously
  • Analyse weekly intake and generate sales report to business with recommendations
  • Generate sales agent performance reports and manage agents, performance and risk accordingly
  • Continuously analyse trends related to sales, quality and risk management and make recommendations to management
  • Ensure sales agent advisor operations team are adequately equipped to ensure that their performance is managed according to required business standards
  • Ensure that all employees have KPA's in place which to manage performance levels, that adequately reflects expected performance outcomes and defines appropriate competencies and behaviours of the role
  • Improve overall skill levels within the area by ensuring personal development plans are in place to address development needs and career aspirations
  • Manage any succession risks by identifying key personnel and developing appropriate succession plans with defined development initiatives to achieve career aspirations

Job requirements: 

A little about who you are:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) with a relevant tertiary qualification in Sales / Marketing
  • 7 Years sales experience, preferably within a retail environment, of which 3 to 5 years should be at management level
  • Proven people skills with effective experience in training, managing, mentoring and evaluating sales reports and performance
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding revenue targets
  • Advanced MS Office (Word, Powerpoint & Excel)
  • Previous experience in the direct sales environment will be a great advantage
