FA Superintendent Costing

To provide a full Cost and Financial Accounting function to Samancor in accordance with accepted Financial & Accounting policies and procedures.

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY

  • Manage SHEQ compliance within the Section through effective use of the Toolbox
  • Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status

PEOPLE

Manage the Section:

  • Ensure an enabling climate/culture
  • Manage labour stability by minimising labour turnover
    • Labour complement in line with budget
    • Achieve HDSA/Female targets for the Section
  • Manage performance against set targets and competencies
    • Ensure IDP’s are linked to performance results and implemented as per plan
  • Conduct career discussions and implement actions with all identified talent (quarterly)
  • Ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)
  • Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels
  • Conduct recruitment interviews

CUSTOMERS

SAP (CO&FI) Super User:

  • Administer and provide support for the GSAP CO & FI Module
  • Ensure Customer Satisfaction

BUSINESS PROCESSES

Auditing (Internal and External):

  • Management of audit findings
  • Minimise number of audit findings

Enterprise Wide Risk Management (EWRM):

  • Identify and manage risks

Reporting:

  • Compile Cost and FInancial Reports

Code of Practise (COP's)

  • Write, review and ensure compliance of COP's

GROWTH

  • Identify CI opportunities of systems
  • Manage Continuous Improvement through Operational Excellence

Cost and Management Accounting:

  • Report Cost Information

Financial Management Accounting:

  • Report Financial Information

Financial Processes:

  • Manage the Financial Management processes:
    • CAPEX
    • Joint Ventures
    • Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable
    • Payroll

Final Products:

  • Reconcile Final Product figures

Month End Process:

  • Manage month end processes

Job requirements: 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Accounting B Degree / Honours
  • 6 years Accounting experience
  • Knowledge of SAP systems and MS Office will be advantageous
  • CA(SA) or CIMA qualification will be advantageous
  • Completed Accounting articles will be advantageous
