Growth and Innovation Specialist

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

Generate new business

 Research industry sectors
 Develop a strategy and plan
 Identify industries based on size and opportunities for Smollan
 Set-up opportunity brainstorm sessions
 Generate sales leads by identifying target clients and/or relevant contacts
 Conduct industry and client networking
 Prepare and present credentials and proposals
 Facilitate client and Smollan relationship
 Attend client meetings
 Work on new business strategies
 Develop strategies to solve Client’s problems or briefs including costing, strategy, 3p briefing, presentation to Client

Assist with effective set up of account

 Assist with the preparation of detailed and robust project plan
 Coordinate support from service departments and operational teams
 Provide client engagement to instil confidence
 Provide a strong launch platform for sustained business growth

Sale of services/solutions to new clients

 Actively build and grow strong relationships with Clients
 Support Client Management team in presenting new services and solutions to enhance existing relationships
 Prepare and present powerful, persuasive sales presentations that effectively demonstrate the value proposition being offered
 Identifying areas for expansion and development
 Take a solutions and consultative sell approach to ensure clients’ needs are accurately met
 Deliver an outstanding sales process and sales support to clients
 Develop and maintain a robust deal pipeline toward targeted entities to continuously grow the business and generate sales

Effective client engagement, retention and stakeholder management

 Establish relationship with clients and provide high standard of client/customer service continually
 Expand the relationships with existing clients/customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives
 Determine and manage client needs and expectations
 Work with technical staff and internal stakeholders to meet customer needs
 Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs
 Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support

Meet sales targets

 Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales
 Make suggestions to change and implement new initiatives to create profit
 Manage own sales activity and pipeline to meet revenue targets and company goals
 Achieve sales targets by building productive long-term business relationships and generating new business potential

New business pipeline management and research

 Identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments
 Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
 Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate
 Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the sales pipeline and sales management system
 Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets
 Work with the relevant internal stakeholders to ensure that prerequisites (like prequalification or getting on a vendor list) are fulfilled within a timely manner

Effective teamwork and self-management

 Follow through to ensure that personal quality and productivity standards are consistently and accurately maintained
 Demonstrate consistent application of internal procedures
 Plan and prioritise, demonstrating abilities to manage competing demands
 Demonstrate abilities to anticipate and manage change

Job requirements: 

Minimum Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualification

Minimum Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in sales, marketing, new business development, client management or advertising
