Marketing Manager


Primary purpose of the role

Responsible for driving the success of Kudough Credit Solutions in the South African marketplace, for managing the entire Marketing function within the business and for the overseeing of the marketing team.

Energetic, enthusiastic and intuitive marketing strategist with exceptional leadership and communications skills. Proven ability to identify opportunities and deliver effective strategies to generate results. Experience and adept in strategic marketing, digital marketing, UI and UX, branding and product development.




  • Create Kudough’s marketing plan and oversee the implementation of the strategies contained within
  • Articulate product and service offerings, their key benefits and messages to create compelling marketing campaigns based on the strategies agreed and drive lead gen/client acquisition for Kudough
  • Track customer behavior and continuously improve user journeys to deliver the best customers experience
  • Develop and implement promotional and collateral material in support of the marketing plan
  • Responsible for PR for Kudough: writing releases/articles, media pitching and media relationship management
  • Regular reporting and presentations to internal senior management

Digital marketing

  • Develop and manage the digital marketing strategy
  • Manage the development of marketing collateral across all media channels
  • Oversee content, look and feel of the group’s websites, ensuring content is fresh and current
  • Work with SEO consultant to ensure content is fully optimized across all digital touchpoints

Team management

  • Grow and develop the marketing team, keeping them motivated by encouraging creativity and innovation
  • Manage the effectiveness of the work done by the marketing team by ensuring it is targeting the right audience per campaign



Lead generation

  • Create effective, compelling positioning and messaging relevant to the target audience and campaign objectives
  • Stay up-to-date with marketing trends to drive topics for lead gen campaigns
  • Execute marketing campaigns and analyse performance to leverage behavioral trends and to drive lead gen and client acquisition


Project management

  • Responsible for overseeing all projects managed by the marketing team: meeting deadlines, time management, contingency planning, approval channels and procedures, budgeting, campaign analysis and tracking/monitoring procedures
  • Establish and communicate project scope, strategy and objectives to internal clients in order to manage expectations and delivery thereof
  • Manage the creation of all marketing assets: graphic and digital design, video production and web development, from concept to completion


Market research and competitive intelligence

  • Conduct regular competitor analysis to identify opportunities for Kudough in terms of product offerings and differentiators
  • Partake in client interviews to obtain insight into client stories and trends and make recommendations to management
  • Conduct marketing surveys when required


Budget management

  • Compile, implement, monitor and control the marketing budget

Job requirements: 


  • Marketing related degree with 3+ years’ marketing management experience
  • Digital and content marketing, campaign management, AdWords and Analytics
  • Creative thinker, excellent listener and communicator
  • Good presentation skills with the ability to communicate at all levels within a business
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strategic planner with the skill to think ‘big picture’
  • Intuitive, proactive, collaborative leader
  • Ability to thrive under pressure while being able to manage multiple projects at a time
