Sales Manager (2IC)


Motus Afermarket Parts is looking for a Sales Manager (2IC) in our North Rand Road Midas to manage sales of the company’s products within a defined geographic area or province. Identifies objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short- and long-term sales and earnings.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Executive Sales to establish and recommend the most realistic sales goals

• Manage an assigned geographic sales area or product line to maximize sales revenues and meet objectives

• Establish and manage effective programs to compensate, coach, appraise and train sales personnel

• Perform sales activities on major accounts and negotiates sales price and discounts in consultation with National Sales Manager

• Manage personnel and develop sales and sales support staff

• Review progress of sales roles throughout the company

• Accurate forecasts: annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams

• Develop specific plans to ensure revenue growth in all company products 

• Provide quarterly assessment results of sales staff’s productivity

• Coordinate proper company resources to ensure efficient and stable sales results

• Adhere to all sales policies, practices and procedures

• Assist sales personnel in establishing personal contact and rapport with top echelon decision-makers

• Collaborate with Sales Executive to develop sales strategies to improve market share in all product lines

• Interprets short- and long-term effects on sales strategies in operating profit

• Collaborate with National Sales Manager to establish and control budgets for sales promotion and trade show expenses

• Review expenses and recommend savings and cost cutting

• Hold regular meetings with sales staff

• Educate sales team by establishing programs/seminars in the areas of:

- new account sales and growth

- sales of emerging products and multi-product sales

- profitability

- improved presentation strategies

- competitive strategies

- proper use and level of sales support

- management of expenses and business / financial issues on contracts

Job requirements: 

Qualifications & Experience:
• Grade 12 / matric essential
• Diploma / degree in marketing or business studies would advantages; or a minimum of 5-7 years’ work-related experience

• Strong managerial and multitasking skills
• Relationship building and interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information
• Ability to motivate and lead
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong time management
• Ability to work under pressure and target driven
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience in developing marketing and sales strategies
