Seldom does one receive the exciting opportunity of promoting a world class convention centre like the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).

Take the lead on managing the Business Development National Department by overseeing the day to day management of the National Sales Department (Long Term) relating to all 7 National Sales market segments. Coupled with this you will take accountability for the budgets of 3 market segments: National Conferences, Trade Fairs and Exhibitions (short term, long term or repeat events).

You will report into the General Manager of Commercial and Business Development, taking key responsibility for (but not limited to) the following:

Business development and sales:
Proactively identify and establish contact with potential and existing clients and maintain relationships
Book select events, quote, upsell additional services, contract and receive deposit prior to handover to the Events Department
Meet annual sales goals and targets for the National Conferences, Trade Fairs, Exhibitions, Banquets, Special Events and Other segments
Represent the CTICC at relevant trade shows, workshops and industry functions, both locally and internationally
Delivering of CTICC presentations at client meetings, activations, workshops, off site at client offices /premises or on site at CTICC

Financial targets and contribution:
Prepare and implement an annual sales plan for the national portfolio, setting targets and outlining KPIs specific to the segments: National Conferences, Trade Fairs and Exhibitions
Meet and exceed an annual revenue budget of up to R60mil for the three combined segments
Prepare financial reports as and when required

Client and Stakeholder engagements:
Ensure proper interdepartmental communication
Manage and maintain meaningful relationships with industry stakeholders and partners in order to generate revenue and ensure repeat business for the Trade Fair and Exhibition market segments

Staff management:
Recruit, guide, discipline and train direct reports within the National Sales department
Identify training and development opportunities for subordinates.
