A luxury safari and accommodation lodge based in Zimbabwe which believes in enriching the lives of those who live around the lodge as well as the lodges guests. Determined to ensure that its the local people and wildlife that directly benefit from the lodges visitors. 

Leading African lodge manager is looking for a digital fundi based in Cape Town for a minimum 6-month contract to assist with a redesign of the company website, management of social media pages, development of newsletters and general digital strategy. Knowledge of web development using WordPress

  • Capitalise on WETU and Trip Advisor
    • Ensure Wetu/ Tripadvisor channels are fully capitalised on and updated monthly with new news/images/specials, etc.
    • Manage TripAdvisor and Facebook reviews
  • Own company website
    • Work alongside Marketing and Sales Director on updating and upgrading the company website
    • Ensure monthly thereafter that the company website is updated (i.e. photography and content)
    • Ensure a blog once a month is posted to our website (work with key stakeholders to get this completed) and share these blogs internally with the business
    • Work monthly on capitalising on the companys SEO for the website and ensure we are capitalising on exposure through the web to draw in direct bookings
    • Monthly google analytics report for website pulled with analysis & commentary to use to drive bi-yearly improvements
  • Monthly Marketing newsletter
    • Create new and exciting templates for the company newsletter
    • Work closely with the Marketing and Sales Director on content to be shared on a monthly basis and then once a month prepare these newsletters and distribute to trade database
    • Prepare adhoc blasts on new news/ last minute deals
  • New news through online associations
    • Provide updated content to associations/partnerships to ensure most up to information on relevant websites/newsletters - for example ATTA and Wild Zambezi
  • Own Facebook & Instagram social media platform
    • Develop monthly Facebook and Instagram conversation calendar
    • Work to hit annual targets set for these two social media platforms
    • Prepare quarterly FB & Instagram stats with commentary of learnings to take forward to improve our presence in this media platform & reach our targets
    • Perform a competitor analysis half yearly
  • Capitalise on Online trends
    • Research emerging online trends in the social space that the company can actively market through
    • Bi-annually prepare a document on the social space and the size of the opportunities for the company to be involved in
    • If budgets and social projects are approved, then manage the set up and running of these new social platforms
  • Update online signatures for company
    • Update online signatures for the company and look for ways that to use signatures to market new news/ awards and specials. (i.e. click through to website/ specials)
  • Manage Online awards
    • Manage and keep information fresh for safari award entries
    • Look for new opportunities for the company to enter online awards and work with key stakeholders to produce the content for these awards
  • Track online presence on tour operator websites
    • Update and manage spreadsheet which tracks the companys presence online through tour operator websites (especially the top 20 in each source market)
    • Present opportunities to Marketing manager to pursue to increase our presence on tour operators websites (i.e. they have launched a new kids section which we can then approach them to load our kids on safari itinerary)
  • Research and track impact of Bloggers/Social media influencers that company partners with
    • Research the size of the opportunity when bloggers and social influencers reach out to partner with, give decision to marketing to pursue working with the prospect
    • Track social media impact from the agreement with blogger/social influencer
  • Manage You tube channel
    • Present gaps identified in video content to marketing manager and then work with the marketing team to collect that media footage to upload onto you tube plus also use on social media platforms to give the company a competitive advantage
  • Bring our community work to the fore/heart of our communication with the trade and consumers
    • Ensure all community projects are shared timeously through our social media channels
    • Find new and interesting ways to share our community content with the trade and consumers
    • Identify new partners for growth in the digital space which will to help share and bring awareness to our community content/ projects
  • Manage photo database
    • Ensure all photos are filed correctly and easily for use by the marketing team on an ongoing basis
    • Identify any gaps in the photo database and make recommendations to the marketing team
