Overall Job Function

To manage the sales of the consumer products and services nationally in order to ensure consistent and profitable growth in sales revenues through positive planning, deployment and management of sales staff. To identify objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short and long term sales and earnings and implement accordingly.


Job Responsibilities


  • Provide leadership to the department through goal setting, capabilities development, performance feedback and career planning, help recruit and retain competent and high performing staff in order to ensure departmental service delivery and achievement of departmental goals
  • Collaborate with Group Sales Director, Corporate Planning and other senior management in establishing and recommending realistic sales goals for the assigned geographic areas in order to increase market share
  • Manage national consumer sales to maximise sales revenue and meet corporate objectives
  • Perform sales activities on major accounts and negotiate sales price and discounts utilising prevailing pricing model
  • Accurately forecast annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams
  • Control and report on national budget spend
  • Assist with assessing marketing potential of new and existing channel distribution and business development locations / stores
  • Develop specific plans to ensure revenue growth in all commercial products
  • Develop national sales programs and ensure implementation through the development and implementation of field sales action plans



Job Requirements

  • Degree in Business Management, Marketing or Sales
  • Minimum 10 years sales experience and 3 years at Senior Management level
  • Computer literacy [Microsoft Office and SAP]
  • Valid drivers license


  • Good verbal and communication skills in English and Afrikaans
