Contribute to the development of the Companys overall strategy and developing, driving and implementing a human resources strategy and business plan (with budget) to support the delivery of the Companys overall strategy.
Recruitment, selection and induction practices supported and implemented.
Supporting training, development and retention initiatives, including skills development plans and reports.
General industrial and employee relations knowledge, including communication and building sound relationships with the unions and employees.
Advise and Coach Management on IR Practices to build a positive IR Climate within the business.
Representing the company in disciplinary hearings and at the CCMA (or other similar dispute resolution forums).
Annual wage negotiations, general consultations and negotiations with the union and bargaining unit.
Establishing, maintaining and attending employee forums.
Ensuring planning, monitoring and appraisal of employee performance/behavior by training managers to coach and discipline employees.
Schedule hearings with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees .
Driving and managing the AVI performance management system and processes, including identifying competence gaps, assisting with the development of individual and team performance agreements.
Overseeing the development and implementation of key action plans to fill competence gaps, and monitoring and reporting on competence acquisition across the business unit.
Ensuring full HR/IR compliance with all labour related (and other relevant) legislation.
Staying abreast of HR market trends, relevant HR/IR legislation and events in appropriate industry and statutory bodies and advising management on HR/IR legislative and compliance matters.
Driving and implementing the AVI transformation agenda in consultation with the AVI Transformation Executive, including all elements of the BBBEE scorecard and the annual BBBEE review.
Recommending, implementing and driving appropriate reward and recognition strategies, including compensation and benefits and the administration thereof.
Ensuring appropriate HR policies, procedures and practices are in place and managing such policies, procedures and practices.
Advising on and assisting management with the implementation of optimal organizational structures.
Lead and implement all change management initiatives within the business.
Employee health, safety, and wellness.
Active member of the site team, which includes conducting audits, supporting cost saving initiatives and continuous improvement projects, contributing towards formulation and implementation of site strategy, etc.
Developing and reporting to the Operations Executive on HR metrics and deliverables as required.
Managing relationship and engagements with AVI Group HR and Legal and AVI HRSS, including managing the SLA with AVI HRSS.
Maintaining professional HR and technical knowledge.
Implement Talent Management Practices within business unit.
Drive a Culture of High Performance and Engagement within the business.
Develop coaching skills within line managers by providing tools and observing and providing feedback on performance.

A minimum of 8+ years HR Management experience in a FMCG or manufacturing environment required
Proven experience functioning in multi-discipline teams

A completed HR qualification (B.Degree in HR Management, Industrial Psychology, or similar) essential.

Knowledge and implementation of all employment legislation
Computer literacy incl. Excel and SAP
Exposure to a unionized environment is essential
Understanding of all HR/IR related legislation is essential
