Internal Sales Engineer - Pumps

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Engineering, sound Mechanical and Mathematical aptitude is essential.
  • Previous experience in Sales with exposure to business management principles, preferably in an engineering environment is essential.
  • An understanding of the pump industry is essential.
  • The candidate must be competent in the Food and Beverage industry and able to select pumps that will be used in food and hygienic industries (viscous liquids and pumping liquids at temperature).
  • Must be an excellent communicator with highly developed negotiation, sales and marketing skills. 
  • Must possess a capacity for developing creative solutions to business issues/problems along with good time management skills.
  • Computer literacy is essential with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint, BOARD, Navision and database systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Applying an aggressive sales plan, formulated in conjunction with the MD, to achieve sales, profits and growth budgets.
  • Conducting sales visits with customers and providing advice and support to customers regarding the range of the companys products, attempting to match customer needs with engineered solutions.
  • Promoting services, spare parts, and contract functions.
  • Analysing sources of tender information and future projects and following up on leads.
  • Preparing quotations, sales orders, reports and paperwork to satisfy company and customer requirements.
  • Ensuring all pricing policies are followed.
  • Providing input to the Sales Team, attending Sales meetings and completing written and verbal reports as required by Senior staff.
  • Ensuring compliance with the companys Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
  • Preparing mail outs for new product information and updates.
  • Following up and reporting on all quotes.
  • Keeping up to date with new technology and products within scope of supply.
  • Conducting market related research on new industries and products.
  • Providing support to all External Sales Representatives.
