TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • THE INCUMBENT MUST HAVE A SOUND KNOWLEDGE OF BANKING OPERATIONS IN ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
    • TREASURY OPERATIONSTRANSACTIONAL BANKING CARD OPERATIONS THIS ROLE REPORTS TO HEAD OF PAYMENTS AND SETTLEMENTS

PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE:

  • KNOWLEDGE OF FOREIGN EXCHANGE , TRADE SERVICES AND MONEYMARKET AT INTERBANK AT BRANCH LEVELS PLUS AND UNDERSTANDING OF GLOBAL BEST PRACTICES METHODOLOGIES AND THE APPLICATION THEREOF TO SOLVE VARIOUS SETTLEMENTS PROBLEMS. GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF THE MECHANICS OF NOSTRO CASH MANAGEMENT AND RELEVANT INVESTIGATIONS TECHNIQUES AND INTEREST CALCULATIONS APPLICABLE TO THE VARIOUS CROSS-BORDER COUNTRIES WOULD BE BENEFICIAL

INITIATIVE:

  • THE INCUMBENT MUST BE ABLE TO EFFECTIVELY MANAGE A LARGE TEAM OF MIXED ABILITY
  • COMMUNICATION SKILLS (WRITTEN & VERBAL):
    • THE INCUMBENT WILL LIAISE WITH HIS / HER COUNTERPARTS AT A GLOBAL AND LOCAL LEVEL AND AS SUCH MUST HAVE SOUND ORAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS.
    • CLARITY IN EXPRESSION AND EXPLANATION OF COMPLELEX SUBJECTS TO AUDIENCES OF VARIED BACKGROUDS.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • MANAGING THE DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT
  • PAYMENT MECHANISMS (SWIFT, NPS, VTM, MONEYGRAM ETC)
  • TAKE CHARGE OF THE BUSINESS AND RELATED STAFF MATTERS IN THE DEPARTMENT
  • TAKE OWNERSHIP AND RESPONSIBILITY OF SYSTEM (S) THAT FALL IN THE DEPARTMENT
  • TAKE OWNERSHIP AND RESPONSIBILITY OF BUDGETS & EXPENSES IN THE DEPARTMENT
  • LIAISE WITH THE VARIOUS STAKEHOLDERS (TREASURY FRONT OFFICE, RETAIL BRANCHES, ETC) IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND FUTURE BUSINESS NEEDS AND PROACTIVELY POSITION PROCESSES TO FACILITATE THE BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS
  • UNDERSTAND THE DEVELOPMENT NEEDS OF SUBORDINATES AND MANAGE AND GROW THEM
  • THREE DIRECT REPORTS AND FIFTY INDIRECT STAFF MEMBERS
