Architectural Technical Sales Rep (Construction) construction

International company wants to employ a External Technical Sales Rep:

* will be responsible for the generation of revenue and achievement of sales targets by soliciting and obtaining orders;

* understanding and interpreting technical requirements;

* providing technical information and developing accounts.

* will work closely with Customers, Architects, Engineers, Quantity surveyors, Developers, main Contractors and their internal sales, marketing team and technical teams to promote the sale

* first line of contact with all existing and new customers and establish and maintain long-term relationships with new and the current customer base.

KPI's

    1. Open, close and grow sales through communication with existing and potential customers.
  • Manage account from initial enquiry  to close of sale
  • Manage and interpret customer requirements
  • Communicate sales and accessory opportunities
  • Identify and resolve client concerns
  • Understand and comply with established guidelines that ensure a safe and healthy work environment 
  • Coach internal sales staff to provide exemplary service to walk-in customers
  • Expand market awareness of products and industry experience by communicating features and benefits of products and accessories effectively
  • Work with the technical team to ensure customer project requirements are met
  • Spend 80% + of sales time in the field visiting existing customers and other target opportunities
  • Maintain records of customer communications and contact information as required
  • Make technical presentations to target audience
  • Attend and participate in customer trade shows, conferences and other marketing events as well as speaking at these events
  • Maintain awareness of pertinent customer information, future plans, payment performance; communicate any client information that may affect company decisions to appropriate departments as needed
  • Working knowledge of the design tools and price calculations
  • Research market requirements and market data
  • Maintain knowledge of competitor products and identify and report intelligence on competitor pricing or marketing strategies
  • Demonstrate and explain best practices in installation techniques for customers, architects and main contractors
  • Submit a variety of sales status reports as required, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to targets
  • Submit monthly customer visit plans; schedule customer meetings and action plans for follow-up
  • Full responsibility for setting the customer’s expectations
  • Ongoing field visits for a variety of reasons to include but not limited to training, inspection, failure analysis and building strong relationships
  • Assist the Technical Department and the customer with evaluation and execution of job warranties
  • Maintain a cost conscious attitude toward company expenditures and submit expense claims and sales reports and other paperwork accurately and on time
  • Occasionally assist in reviewing technical literature
  • Attend weekly sales meetings and present prospects and leads for the week
