The Western Cape Government has launched the Western Cape Export Strategy 2035, a long-term plan aimed at expanding exports, attracting investment and creating more jobs across the province.

Western Cape MEC for Agriculture, Economic Development and Tourism, Dr Ivan Meyer, unveiled the strategy on Wednesday, describing expanded market access as a key driver of sustainable economic growth.

Cyril Ramaphosa says investment commitments secured through the South Africa Investment Conference could create approximately 230 000 direct permanent jobs over time.

The President made the announcement while responding to oral questions in the National Assembly on Thursday.

Ramaphosa said government is intensifying efforts to address South Africa’s structural unemployment crisis through investment attraction and economic reforms.
