Learnership Details
Training Start Date: 1 June 2025
Duration: 18 months (ends 30 November 2026)
Stipend: R34.91 per hour
Location: Cape Town, Western Cape
This fully accredited training programme includes the Further Education and Training Certificate in Road Traffic Law Enforcement and the Law Enforcement Skills Programme SP4/2012.
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for the City of Cape Town Traffic Officer Learnership, applicants must:
- Have a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate (documentary proof required)
- Be a permanent resident within the City of Cape Town
- Be proficient in English and at least one other official South African language
- Be unemployed (Students and EPWP workers are welcome to apply)
- Be between 18 and 35 years old
- Be medically and physically fit to perform strenuous duties
- Have no criminal record
- Possess a valid driver’s licence – minimum Code B (manual transmission)
- Be able to work in a team, handle pressure, and cope with stressful situations
- Have no visible tattoos when wearing any uniform of the service
